Prologue

Back in 1922, during the break of the Great War, after such carnage, a series of Serbian greats were born. Vasko Popa, Duško Radović, Radovan Samardžić, Dejan Medaković, Miodrag Protić, Voja Čolanović, Mihiz, Rajko Mitić... Life tries to fill in the gaps and keep the balance. So as not to break the line of guardians of fire and meaning.
Back in 1922, ”Stražilovo” by Crnjanski and Revelation by Rastko Petrović were published. In the world, Joyce publishes his Ulysses, Eliot The Waste Land, Rilke Duino Elegies... If this 2022 fails, we will only be able to survive on water and centenaries. <

Chronicle
KARABURMA, THE FORMER SUBURBS IN WHICH ALL THIS HAS BEGUN
Discovering the First Belgrade
The Celtic Singidun was not actually at the confluence of the Danube and Sava, nor around the Fortress, but in the Karaburma part of Palilula, all the way to the marshes along Mirijevo Creek. More than two millennia late, a poor city neighborhood sprouted there, famous for fishermen, coachmen and especially boxers. Regardless of whether its name means ”black noose”, ”crooked nose” or ”rocky cape”, the first industrial zone in Belgrade has certainly sprung up in Karaburma. The only spa in the inner city is also there, as well as the most romantic football club in the world
