Approaching the Centennial of Unification
The precursor of the Cathedral of the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles (the Greek Church) existed as early as the 18th century. Today’s building was erected in the middle of the 19th century, and since the renovation from 1905, which was marked by Herman Bole and Uroš Predić with their mastery, it is also an important cultural monument. It is planned that the current extensive renovation will be completed by November 2018, when Srem celebrates the 100th anniversary of the unification with Serbia. The people of Srem made this decision was made at the Grand National Assembly in Ruma
